Please include

  • The page, and the figure or result you saw
  • When you saw it, with the time if you can
  • What you compared it with, and where. For a rate, the currency pair and the other rate. For a bank code, the code and the bank's own page
  • Rate errorsLooked at the same business day
  • Tool errors1 to 2 business days
  • Everything else2 to 5 business days

What Happens After You Report

Five steps, the same for every report.

  1. We read itYour report goes to the editor. Please never send passwords, PINs or card numbers.
  2. We check itFor a rate, we look at the collected quotes and the calculation. For a tool, we run your example against the rule and the directory it uses.
  3. We decideThere are three possible outcomes, below.
  4. We fix it and say soIf a correction changes something people could have relied on, we add a dated note to the page and an entry to the log below.
  5. We reply to youYou hear what we found and what we did, including when we found no error and why.
  • CorrectedThe figure, the calculation or the data is fixed on the page.
  • WithdrawnThe figure is taken down until it can be shown correctly. We show nothing rather than something wrong.
  • No errorThe figure is right, and we explain how it was reached and why it can differ from what you saw.

What Counts as an Error

We want to hear

  • A rate that our own quotes do not support
  • A calculator result that is arithmetically wrong
  • A bank code, format or rule that is wrong or out of date
  • A wrong statement, a broken link or a wrong date

Not errors, but we will explain

  • A bank, bureau or provider quoting a different rate. Providers set their own rates and fees
  • A rate that moved after it was collected. Every page shows the collection time
  • A valid-looking code for an account that does not exist. Checkers test the format, not the account

Corrections Log

Corrections that changed a figure or result people could have relied on, newest first. Small fixes, such as a typo, are not logged.

Dollar rate history: one wrong quote

Being corrected
Found
18 September 2026
Where
Dollar to naira, and the daily history behind the rate pages
What was wrong
From 12 August 2026 to 7 September 2026 (27 days) the dollar feed held one wrong quote of ₦1,000. It pulled each day's dollar average down by about 3.1% to 3.3% and distorted the 30-day change on the rate pages.
What we did
The wrong quote has not been in the daily figures since 8 September 2026. The stored daily figures for the 27 days above still include it and are being recalculated. Until then the rate tracker leaves out any day whose lowest quote is under 80% or whose highest is over 125% of the day's average, and says so.

Our Promises

  • No one can pay to change a figure. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no say in any rate, result or correction.
  • We do not fill gaps. A missing value is better than a made-up one, so we withdraw before we guess.
  • Method changes are public. When the way we work changes, the methodology page and its date change too.

Found something wrong?

Tell me the page, the figure and when you saw it. I would rather fix it than have you trust it.

Quick Answers

How long does a correction take?

We look at rate errors the same business day, tool errors within 1 to 2 business days and other reports within 2 to 5 business days. A fix can take longer than a look, for example when a directory has to be checked against the bank's own page, and we tell you if it will.

Will you tell me what you found?

Yes. If you gave an email address, you get a reply that says what we checked, what we found and what we changed, including when we found no error.

Do you correct pages quietly?

No. If a correction changes something people could have relied on, the page gets a dated note and the correction goes in the log on this page. Small fixes, such as a typo, are not logged.

What if I think a bank or bureau rate is right and yours is wrong?

Send both, with the time you saw each. Our figures are indicative references built from published quotes, not offers, so a provider can differ. We still check the quotes and the calculation, and we will show you what we found.

Can you remove a figure I do not like?

We remove or withdraw a figure only when it is wrong or cannot be shown correctly. No one can pay to have a figure changed or removed.
