Disclaimer: what this site is and what it is not

1. General

The information on AbokiCalculator (abokicalculator.com) is provided for general information and education. We take reasonable care to make it accurate, and we describe how in our editorial policy and methodology. We do not, however, promise that it is complete, current or suitable for any particular purpose, and you use it at your own risk.

Using this site does not create a professional, advisory or fiduciary relationship between you and AbokiCalculator. We are not your financial adviser, accountant, lawyer or bank. For decisions about significant sums, cross-border transfers or currency risk, speak to a qualified professional who is licensed where you live.

2. Exchange Rates

• Parallel market figures are references. They are averages of quotes published on publicly available Nigerian rate-tracking websites, shown only when at least two quotes from two websites are available. They are not quotes from any dealer, and they may differ from the rate at a particular place.
• Official reference figures are interbank. They come from Open Exchange Rates. They are not rates published by the Central Bank of Nigeria and not the rate a bank will give you.
• Not guaranteed. Rates change between the time we collect them and the time you deal. Each page shows when its data was collected. We do not call any rate real-time, and a rate may be delayed, out of date or missing.
• Small differences matter. A difference of a few naira per unit can change what a recipient gets. Always confirm the actual rate and fees with your bank, transfer provider or bureau de change before you transact.
• We do not arrange currency deals. We do not buy, sell, hold, send or exchange money, and we do not recommend or list dealers. Buying, selling and moving foreign currency are subject to law and to the rules of your bank. It is your responsibility to follow them. A rate shown here does not mean that any channel is permitted or suitable for you.

3. Calculators

• Results come from the numbers you enter and from public data that we date on the page, such as World Bank annual figures and the reference rates above. They are estimates, not quotes or offers.
• Numbers that we invent to show how a calculation works are called examples. They are not rates, prices or offers.
• Yearly average rates are official annual averages, and they are not the rate you would have got. Buying power comparisons use national averages of household prices and may not match your own spending.
• The calculators do not include tax, pension, fees charged by other banks, or costs we do not know about. Enter the amounts that apply to you and compare like with like.
• The results are not a forecast, and past changes in a rate do not tell you what it will do next.

4. Bank Code and Account Tools

Our checkers test the format of bank codes and account numbers against published rules and, where a country publishes a check digit, that digit. Some also look up a code in a published bank directory or through a third-party lookup service such as GLEIF or Razorpay. They do not:

• connect to your bank or to live banking systems, unless the page says it uses a lookup service and names it;
• confirm that an account exists, is open, or belongs to a particular person;
• guarantee that a payment will succeed, arrive by a certain time, or be free of charge; or
• replace the checks that your bank or transfer provider must make.

A code that passes a check may still be retired, merged or changed, and a directory can be out of date. Third-party lookup results are theirs, not ours. Always confirm bank details directly with the recipient and with your own bank before you send money.

5. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, AbokiCalculator and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive loss arising from:

• your use of, or reliance on, a rate, a calculator result or a bank code check on this site;
• a payment that failed, was delayed or was misdirected after you used one of our tools;
• the difference between a figure we publish and the rate or amount you actually get;
• errors or omissions in the content, or content that has become out of date; or
• the site or a tool being unavailable, or the content of a linked website or an advertisement.

Nothing in this disclaimer limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, and it does not affect your legal rights as a consumer where you live.

6. Links, Affiliates and Advertising

Links. The site links to other websites, including official references. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Affiliate links. Some links may be affiliate links. If you click one and sign up with the service, we may be paid a commission at no extra cost to you. We aim to link only to services we think are relevant, and a link is not an endorsement or a guarantee of the service. An affiliate relationship never changes a rate, a result or a correction.

Advertising. Advertisements on this site may be served by Google. We do not control what they say and they are not endorsements by us. If you see an advertisement that you think is misleading or inappropriate, tell us through the contact page. The privacy policy and cookie policy explain how advertising uses data.

7. Accuracy and Updates

Rates are collected on a schedule and shown with their collection time. Bank codes, payment rules and standards change, so content that was right when published can become out of date. Pages show what they use and when they were last checked. If you find an error, tell us. We check every report and correct or withdraw what is wrong, as described on the corrections page.

8. Governing Law

This disclaimer is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes about your use of the site are subject to the courts of Nigeria, except where the mandatory consumer protection law of your country gives you the right to use its courts. See also our terms.
